Obituary: Lawrence Erwin Wilson, 75, died December 8th, 2010 at CMC-Northeast Medical Center, Concord. He had been in declining health and seriously ill for one week. He was born April 20, 1935 in Rowan County, NC son of the late John Erwin and Mary Lula Coone Wilson. He was educated in the Rowan County Schools. Mr. Wilson was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Kannapolis. He was employed as a Sgt. for the Police Dept. at Livingstone College prior to his retirement in 2007. He was a US Army Veteran. He loved to garden. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Darrell Coble, Rev. James Melton and Rev. Josh Hughes. Internment will be 12:00 Noon, Monday, Dec. 13th at Salisbury National Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Rowan County Veteran's Council. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:30-3:00 P.M. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence of a son, Harold Wilson, 818 Carolyn Avenue, Kannapolis. He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Cleary Wilson of the Home, two Sons: Charles Wilson, Harold (Lisa) Wilson and a daughter: Ann Wilson Bass (the late Terry Bass) all of Kannapolis. Five Grandchildren: Tiffany, David and Clinton Christy, and Leah and Brandon Wilson. Also survived by two great grandchildren: Riley and Devon Wilson.
