Lee Roy Moore

April 2, 1932 — November 20, 2021

Lee Roy Moore, 89, of Concord, and formerly of Charlotte, passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. Born April 2, 1932 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, He was the son of the late James "Willis" and Mary Starnes Moore.

In his younger days, Lee really enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a Sunday afternoon farmer and enjoyed gardening as well.

Aside from his parents, Lee was preceded in death by three siblings, Eugene Moore, Peggy Christenbury, and Carson Moore.

Lee is survived by his loving wife Helen Stirewalt Moore; two sons, Lee "Eric" Moore and wife Robin of Concord, and Brent Moore and wife Cay of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Jake, Catherine, and Jordan Moore; four brothers, Theodore, Don, Grady and wife Jo, and Walter and wife Janice; two sisters, Marcine Miller and Mary "Lib" Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be held to honor Lee's life at 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at West Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 S. Main St., China Grove. Rev. Matt Conner will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until Noon Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis.

The family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Newell Presbyterian Church, 1500 Rocky River Rd. W, Charlotte, NC 28213.
