Obituary: Lelia Mae Bigham, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Levine-Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville, NC after several months of declining health. She was born November 10, 1938 in Concord, NC, the daughter of the late Henry Alexander Beaver and Hazel Juanita Beaver. Lelia was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Stacy L. Bigham; and a daughter, Roxanne Quay. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at New Hope Lutheran Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Roger Storms. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her daughter, Anita Sabates of Cornelius, NC; her son, Roger Bigham of Kannapolis, NC; and nine grandchildren, Alex Sabates of Cornelius, NC; Garrison Quay and Benjamin Quay, Greg Mullis, Kristin Mullis, and Daniel Mullis, all of Harrisburg, NC; and Tanner Bigham, Ava Bigham, and Shelby Bigham, all of Kannapolis, NC. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that have taken care of Lelia over the last two months at the various areas facilities where she needed care. Memorials may be made to Levine & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
