Leola Aunt Jack Measmer

Obituary: Leola "Aunt Jack" Measmer, 91 of 1718 Measmer Street, Kannapolis died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born March 10, 1919 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Fred Alexander Measmer and Carrie Dennis Measmer. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers: Lester John Measmer, Raymond Lee Meamser, Clarence Lee Measmer, Grady Dillard Measmer, Henry Jackson Measmer, Robert Victor Measmer, and Harold James Measmer, and two sisters Ella Measmer Hamlett and Mildred Measmer Watts. She had previously worked at Cannon Mills, the K&W Cafeteria and the Indian River Fruit Stand before retiring. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Concord. She was a graduate of Cabarrus County schools. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Gil Gilbert. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home. She is survived by her brother, Carl Alexander Measmer of Concord, two nephews, Don Measmer of Kannapolis and Jerry Measmer of Salisbury , a niece Freda Johnson of Kannapolis and her loving caregivers Chic Fleming and Connie Bennett.
