Obituary: - Leonard Lee Rabon, age 92, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a period of declining health. He was born March 27, 1918 in Gaston County, NC, the son of the late Thomas Lee Rabon and Virginia Brigman Rabon. Leonard was employed as a driver with Jones Motor Lines from 1954 to 1982 until his retirement. He attended God's Church of Faith, Kannapolis, NC. He enjoyed playing the steel guitar. He was thought of by family & friends as having an ability to serve others. He was especially a fine Christian man who loved the Lord and loved being a part of his church. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 1st wife, Sarah Buff Rabon; two brothers, Joseph Rabon and Otis Rabon; and three sisters, Grace Plott, Mary Magdalene Huffman, and Ellen Towell. The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, November 19, 2010 at God's Church of Faith, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jeff Upright. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of his sister. Survivors include one sister, Alice Rabon Wike of Kannapolis, NC; a brother, Harry A. Rabon of Trinity, NC; and a number of nieces & nephews.
