Leroy Alexander "Bill" Castor, 99, of Kannapolis, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday morning, January 26, 2022.
Born June 18, 1922, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Wilma Castor Russell. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret, his second wife, Kathleen, and his sister, Darlene Hubbard.
Leroy was lovingly raised by his grandparents, John and Bertha Castor, and was educated in the Rowan County schools. He retired from Cannon Mills, after many years of loyal service and was a member of Mt. Zion UCC. Leroy had been very active and supportive of the Boy Scouts and loved camping, hunting and fishing. Although in a much better place today, Mr. Castor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family members left with cherished memories include numerous cousins; special friends, Tammy Draper, and her mother, Rebecca Gheen, and Mary Corriher.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 pm Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Castor will begin at 4:00 pm at the church, conducted by Rev. Mark Burns. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion section of Greenlawn Cemetery.
