Mooresville
Mrs. Leslie Kay Price Luckey, age 52 of Mooresville, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at her home. Born August 27, 1969 in Charlotte, Leslie was the daughter of Charles Lester Price and the late Carolyn Jean Price. She attended North Mecklenburg High School and Gaston College and graduated from Ashworth College for Floral Design.
Leslie had a true talent and a gift for designing amazing floral arrangements. She blessed so many people and made so many friends through her amazing gift. Leslie and Brittany shared their love for flowers by working together in the family business. Leslie and her daughter, Carie had special bonding time on their coffee dates while sitting outside enjoying nature and listening to the birds and just talking about life in general. She was an exceptional mother who was always there for all her children, but she had a knack for lifting her son, Trevor up in the most unique and loving way and provided the most caring back scratches. Gracie, her precious granddaughter, always put a smile on her face, kept her on her toes and loved the time she spent with her.
In her spare time, Leslie had such a passion for outdoors, spending all her time at her home on the water. She and Kenny had a love for fishing and kayaking, always posting photos of their latest and greatest catch and loved fishing with ALL her family – anyone that was willing to go. She loved relaxing around the fire pit Kenny lovingly built for her in their back yard. She loved caring for her precious fur babies, Molly, Casey and Sadie, along with her pet ducks (which she hand fed) and birds (where she had numerous bird feeders to make sure their need for feeding was met.) Leslie also loved to travel with Kenny to visit her sister, Sandy and her husband, Mark after their recent move to Marathon, FL. But most of all, she loved her family dearly and loved family gatherings. She also had a knack for making those of us who were her friends, feel a part of her family also. Whether it was a kind word or gesture, she always made our day brighter by just a simple act of kindness. She has truly left her mark within the hearts of all of us who were blessed to be her family and her treasured friends.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her loving and adoring husband, Kenneth Wayne Luckey, of their home; her children, Carie Luckey Beaver (Clint), Trevor Ray Doby (Kayla) and Brittany Kay Luckey (Ryan Bringle) and her father, Charles Lester Price. She also leaves behind her precious granddaughter, whom she adored, Gracie Elizabeth Doby and soon to arrive grandson, Troy (T.J.) Ray Doby, along with her sister, Sandy Martens (Mark) and her brother, Bobby Price, her in-laws, Dennis Luckey and Rosemary Beeching, along with too many friends to count. Leslie made a difference, and it was a true honor to know her and to know her was to love her.
A Memorial Service for Leslie will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home Annex Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Edwards.
