Letha C. Mcmanus

Obituary: Letha Mae Connell McManus, 90, of Kannapolis ended her earthly journey on Thursday, August 2, 2012 and began her heavenly journey in the arms of Jesus with her husband and loved ones. Mrs. McManus was born April 11, 1922 in Union County, NC the daughter of the late Ben Connell and the late Mattie Cuthbertson Connell. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, and the love of her life, Erwin Clark "Buster" McManus, who died in 2008. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters; Harold Connell, Buford Connell, Clifford Connell, Mable Pethel, Kat Rimer and Macy Barnhardt. Mrs. McManus was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from the set department of Cannon Mills Co. in 1985 after 42 years of service. The funeral for Mrs. McManus will be held at 3p.m., Sunday, August 5th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Louis Pfeiffer. Burial will follow at Carolina Mem. Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30-3:00 before the service. Survivors include her son Jerry McManus of Kannapolis, Donnie McManus and wife Hope of Mosely Virginia and daughter, Karen Allen and husband Steve of Concord. Grandchildren; Scott Carter (Tammy), Kim Sellers (Monty) Chad Allen (Ashley) & Forbes McManus. Great-grandchildren; Brandon Carter, Brooke Carter, Ryan Sellers, Cassidy Sellers, Taylor Jones and Joshua Allen.
