Letha Melton Milam

Obituary: Letha Melton Milam, 71, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2009. She was born October 13, 1937 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Joel D. and Ruth Davis Melton. She was a 1956 graduate of A.L. Brown High School. She was an active member of Bethpage United Methodist Church where she had served as Past Den Mother and Past Director for the M.Y.F. She had been Past Worthy Matron of the Mary Winslow Chapter of the Eastern Star. She was retired from the Sheet Dept. of Cannon Mills Company. She enjoyed camping and being involved with her church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She is survived by her husband of 53 years: Cecil Doyle Milam, Son: Randy Milam and wife Cindy of China Grove, Daughter: Denise Griffiths and husband Craig of Concord, and Son: Ronald Milam of the Home. She is also survived by a brother, George Melton of Concord and a Sister: Frances Mowery of Cerro Gordo, NC. Seven Grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 11AM Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Bethpage United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Coppley and Rev. Dwayne Melton. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Monday, August 24, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
