Lewis Lorraine Bennett

Lewis Lorraine Bennett, 94 years old, of Kannapolis went to be with his Lord on October 14, 2023.  Lewis was born on December 15, 1928, in Cabarrus County to the late Ernest and Enola Carriker Bennett.

Lewis proudly served his country in the US Navy.  He later owned and operated Cabarrus Printing for 50 + years with his late wife Nancy.  Lewis loved life and helping people in need.  He enjoyed selling tomatoes from his front yard and going to Lake Norman.

Lewis was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy Orfield Bennett in 2017, his sister, Ernestine Earnhardt, his brothers, Bill and Jimbo Bennett and his son-in-law, Matt Gainey.  Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Lewis “Craig” Bennett; his daughters, Jill Reinheardt and Joe and Joy Gainey; his grandchildren, Shania Thompson and her husband Michael, Brittany Stone and her husband Bobby, Cameron Gainey, and Chase Gainey and his wife Ashley; his great grandchildren, Justen, Jaykob, Samantha, Jayden and so to be Khyra; and his sister, Mildred Whittington.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 12:30pm to 2pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2pm.  The interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park with military honors.
