Obituary: China Grove - Lewis Junior "Bud" Gullette, 84, of 160 Oakdale Ct. China Grove (formerly of Kannapolis), died April 25, 2009 at CMC NorthEast. He was born July 4, 1924 in Cabarrus County the son of the late Lewis Nathan Gullette and the late Sally Carolina Morrow Gullette. He had worked at Cannon Mills Plant 1 Weave room for 15 years and then at Linn Mills in Landis until his retirement in 1984. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. He was a member of Claremont Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Monday April 27, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home. His funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeff Upright. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times the family will be at son's home, Jerry Gullette 6489 Enochville Circle, Kannapolis, NC. He is survived by two sons, Jerry Wayne Gullette of Kannapolis and Ronald Wade Gullette of Concord, 7 grandchildren, Kenneth Ray, Dennis Wayne, Cynthia Diane, Debra Lynn, Rocky, Chris, and Michelle Diane, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Katherine Wike and Mazell Strickland both of Kannapolis, and his beloved dog, Bandit.
