Libby Chandler Messimer

Obituary: Libby Chandler Messimer, 59, of Kannapolis passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born September 29, 1952 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of George Chandler, Jr. of Satellite Beach, Fl. and the late Edna Geraldine Barrier Chandler. She had worked at K-Mart for over 17 years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Father Al Riquelme. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 AM Saturday at Whitley's. At other times, the family will be at her brother's home, Hank Chandler, 6637 Wright Rd., Kannapolis. She is survived by husband of 41 years, Rex Messimer Jr., her father George Chandler, Jr. (Bunny) of Satellite Beach, Fl., four brothers, Brady Chandler (Sylvia), George ChandlerIII (Karen), Hank Chandler (Boneta) and Tony Chandler (Alice), three sisters Debbie Furr, Suzi Pulliam, Patti Martin (Rod, a special brother-in-law she always called her "twin") and many nieces and nephews.
