Lillian Long

Obituary: Lillian Long, 95, of Kannapolis passed away June 5, 2019. She was born June 25, 1923 in Virginia, a daughter of the late Edward and Lena Mae Bullard Messer. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.A. (Cal) Long and two sisters, Phyllis Alexander and Zoe Byrd. Lillian retired from Terry Products after many years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where she was involved in the GA's and was a prayer warrior for the church. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 13, 2019 at First Baptist Church by Dr. Tom Cabaniss.. Her family will receive friends following the service. Lillian is survived by a daughter, Lynne Long Barley of Calabash, grandchildren, Bryan Kindley of Seattle, WA, Joy Kindley Williams of Topsail Beach, Kristina Robinson of Charlotte, 4 great grandchildren and two brothers, Ed Messer(Ellen) of Charlotte, Bill Messer (Hilda) of Kannapolis and a special niece, Susan Byrd Gardner. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 101 N. Main St, Kannapolis, NC 28081 Whitley's Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
