Lilly Vanpelt

Obituary: Lilly Elizabeth Spencer Vanpelt, 78, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Carolina Specialty Hospital. Lilly was born in Cabarrus County to the late Henry and Stella Phillips Spencer; she was married to the late Harold Glenn Vanpelt who preceded her in 1998. Lilly was a member of Central Baptist Church, she retired after 29 years of service from Cannon Mills #5 Weave Room plant 1, and she was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Derrick Vanpelt of Landis, and Glenn Vanpelt of Kannapolis; a daughter, Priscilla Hill (Edward) of Daytona Beach Florida; five grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Kannapolis City Cemetery.
