Linda Jo (Freeman) Brooks

Linda Freeman Brooks, 81, of Kannapolis passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023 at her residence.

She was born September 30, 1942 in Cabarrus County to the late James Maurice Freeman and the late Frances Irene Sherrill Freeman.

Linda was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and the North State Business College in North Carolina.  She was a member of Midway Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Linda retired as a legal secretary for the Robenson, Bradshaw, Hinson law firm in Charlotte. Linda loved to Shag dance and had been a very active member of the Atlanta Shagging Club.

In addition to her parent’s Linda was preceded in death by her husband James Brooks whom she married on October 12, 1962.

She is survived by her son: Stephen David Friedman and wife Donna, Brother: Guy Freeman and wife Pam, Grandchildren: Megan, Chris and Lisa, Nieces: Jalyn Campbell and Madalyn Hodge and her husband Blake, Nephew: Dillon Freeman along with great nieces and great nephews

A visitation will be held Friday December 15, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis, NC 28083, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel with her cousin, Randy Sherrill officiating, entombment will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park.
