Linda Daughtery Garmon

Obituary: China Grove, NC- Linda Daugherty Garmon, age 68, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, NC after three months of declining health. She was born December 25, 1943 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Carl Brown Daugherty and Alice Ramelle Poplin Daugherty. Linda was a 1962 graduate of South Rowan High School, China Grove, NC. Later, she attended North State Business College in Kannapolis, NC. She was a lifelong member of Lutheran Chapel Church, China Grove, NC. She made her career working for Rowan Cabarrus Community College, Salisbury, NC in student services for 25 years. Linda loved making crafts and painting as special pastimes in her life. She had babysitted and had a strong fondness for her great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 5, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Lutheran Chapel Church, China Grove, NC officiated by Rev. Bill Connelly. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, China Grove, NC. Survivors include her husband, Gary Linn Garmon; one brother, Jim Daugherty of China Grove, NC; three nieces, Amber Savage & husband, Brad of China Grove, NC, Jaime Stegall & husband, Gordon of Charlotte, NC, and Lindsay Daugherty of Silver Springs, MD.
