Linda Christine (Almond) Helms

Linda Almond Helms, 81, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Atrium Health- Cabarrus following a long battle with sarcoma. Linda Christine was born on April 6, 1942, in Locust to the late Ida and Will Almond.

Linda married the love of her life Olin Lee Helms on September 26, 1964, in Lancaster, South Carolina. Linda’s cooking was a great “southern chef”. She made big fluffy biscuits for Olin daily; deviled eggs and chocolate chess pies were her specialties. She enjoyed sewing clothes and beautiful blankets as well as knitting pretty scarves and hats. Linda loved being a grandmother to her two grandsons, Jaden and Logan. She loved fishing and swimming with them at the lake, buying them lottery tickets and candy. Linda was also known for her quick wit, and candor-you always knew what was on her mind.

Linda leaves behind a loving husband and life-long companion, Olin L. Helms; her daughter, Regina (Jon) Helms Kroll; two grandsons, Jaden Kroll and Logan Kroll and her brother, Gene (Brenda) Almond.

She was preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

A Graveside service for Linda will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. Enter Mt. Olivet Rd from US 29 and turn right to the Meditation area. (Near her sister, Mary Grace Laughter...aka Sis)
