Linda Scoggins Hughes

Obituary: Linda "Diane" Scoggins Hughes, 55, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at CMC-NE. Her death was unexpected. Diane was born January 17, 1955 in Cabarrus Co., a daughter of the late George and Sally Graham Scoggins. She was a life-long area resident and member of 2nd Baptist Church, Kannapolis. She loved sewing, decorating and any kind of crafts as well as flowers, gardening and anything outdoors. Diane was a loving and devoted mother," Mee-Maw" and sister and will be dearly missed. In addition to her father she was recently preceded in death by her mother, Sally Scoggins, who died in October of 2012. Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Misti and Jessica Hughes, both of Kannapolis and her granddaughter, Alyssa Walls. She is also survived by her brothers; Wayne Scoggins of China Grove and Rev. Gary Scoggins of Kannapolis and her sister, Delane Brakefield of Kannapolis. A memorial service will be held at 2nd Baptist Church at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 16 with Rev. Gary Scoggins officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday at the Church, at other times the family will be at her residence.
