Linda "Janice" O'Neal

Linda “Janice” O’Neal, 71, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Janice was born on August 19, 1953, in South Carolina. She was a cherished daughter of the late Evander O’Neal and Verlie Johnson O’Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.R Morris; sisters, Margaret O’Neal, Elain Tucker, Betty “Cricket” Critchlow’ brothers, Payton O’Neal, William O’Neal, Billy O’Neal and Steve O’Neal; and grandparents, Betty and Wallace Riles.

A lover of the great outdoors, Janice found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether casting a line at her favorite fishing spot, walking along the shore, or hiking through the mountains. She was always the happiest when surrounded by nature.

But above all, it was her family that meant the most to her. Janice had an unshakeable devotion to her loved ones, always putting their needs before her own. She would give away everything she had if it meant helping someone else, and her acts of kindness knew no bounds. Whether it was a shoulder to lean on, or a selfless gift, she always found ways to make those around her feel loved and cared for. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her..

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Angela Tyner and Malinda Hollifield; sons, Jerry McCall and Dwayne Curlee; 7 grandchildren; brothers, David O’Neal, Jamie Carl O’Neal; sisters Lindell Ann Troutman, Linda Faye Ahlers, Cindy Sartain (Roger); She was also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will be held the following day at 11:00am at Magnolia Cemetery- S Cedar Ln, Hartsville, SC 29550
