Linda Jean Lowery

Obituary: Linda Jean Hamm Lowery, 69, of Kannapolis died Monday, March 9, 2015 at CMC-Main, Charlotte after a brief illness. Linda was born July 26, 1945 in York SC, a daughter of the late John Marion Hamm and Marie Parker Hamm Drye. She graduated from Winecoff High School, Class of 1963 and North State Business College. She married David Lowery on October 25, 1964. Linda worked for Kannapolis General Insurance Agency and Home Realty Company until she was disabled by a stroke in April of 1997. Linda was a caring; loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved her family dearly, the children and grandchildren were the love of her life. Linda also loved the Lord. She was a life-time member of First Wesleyan Church. Linda had been involved in many areas of the church until she became disabled. She sang in the choir and was active with the Ladies Circle. Even though she did not go as she once had, Linda still loved the church and friends that she had there. Since her stroke, Linda would spend part of every morning reading her Bible and doing her devotions. She was so very happy all the time. She never complained. Linda was truly one special person. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, David Lowery and her son, Michael Blair Lowery, both of Kannapolis, her daughter, Melissa Dawn Wagoner (Keith) of N. Myrtle Beach, SC, her grandchildren; Erica, Buddy, Jennifer and Candice. She is also survived by her sisters; Patty Hardeman (Grady) of Kannapolis and Terry Coleman (Neil) of Statesville and 3 nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, March 12 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:00 to 2:30 PM on Thursday prior to funeral.
