Obituary: Linda Lee (Sizemore) Rumple, 68, of Kannapolis, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House. Linda was born in Berea, KY to James and Isabel Sizemore on September 7, 1947. She graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury, N.C. in 1966, and later went on to earn two associates degrees, one in liberal arts, and one in manufacturing engineering tech, from Central Piedmont Community College. She worked for many years at General Electric, IBM, and Allstate Insurance. She was often recognized during her career for her dedication and strong work ethic. Linda was known for her youthful spirit, creativity, sense of fun, and perhaps most of all for her compassionate, giving nature. She always put others before herself. She was a lifelong learner with many, varied interests. Even after her diagnosis of stage four colon cancer, she could be heard taking her online French and Spanish lessons. Linda had an innate artistic talent and had in recent years taken up jewelry making, crochet, and drawing. She also wrote short stories. She excelled at all the creative endeavors she took on. She enjoyed movies, reading, trips to the mountains, singing in her church's choir, playing Scrabble, watching her favorite shows, swimming, music, and going for rides in the car that allowed her to look out at nature. She found beauty everywhere. She also had a heart for animals and took in many stray, abandoned, and feral animals. Most of all, Linda was a loving wife and mother, one who dedicated her whole life to her family. She gave her family many gifts, the greatest of all, her love and great faith, which she passed on to her children. She was preceded in death by her father, James A. Sizemore; her mother, Isabel Sizemore; her sisters, Sally Asher and Margaret Fox; and her brothers, Stanley Sizemore and Robert "Bobby" Sizemore. She is survived by her husband, Dan Rumple; daughter, Laurel Rumple; son, Heath Rumple; sister, Shelby Warren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The memorial service will be held on December 30, 2015, 2:00 pm, at Bethpage United Methodist Church, 109 Fellowship Ave. Kannapolis, N.C. 28081, with Pastor Mark Portis and Pastor Duane Melton officiating. Following the service the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall. Online condolences may be made at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
