Obituary: Linda Gail Jackson Sossamon,62, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center, Salisbury following a period of declining health. She was born September 1, 1951 in Chesterfield County, SC a daughter of the late Lois Christine Jackson Henry. Linda was an active member of Faith Baptist Church of Kannapolis as long as her health permitted. She was employed at Cannon Mills Plant #1, weave room and later was a homemaker. Linda was a loving mother who was active in her children's school activities. She enjoyed reading her bible, spending time with her children, and having coffee with her mother and her brother Jack. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Doolittle and Shirley Graves and one brother Jimmy Flowers. Survivors include one son, Ashley Brown (Delette) of Concord, one daughter, Chrystal Clendenin (Terry) of Statesville, brother Jack Jackson of Kannapolis and six grandchildren: Kyle and Tyler Pennington, Sloan and Carson Clendenin, and Ashton and Chloe Brown and her former husband of 19 years, Taft Brown of Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. James Pauley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Friday prior to the service. Interment will be private.
