Obituary: CONCORD, NC - Linda Jean Davis Treece, 78, of Concord went to her Heavenly home on September 21, 2017 after a battle with dementia. Her family is at peace because Linda had placed her faith and trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior. Linda attended First Baptist Church of Kannapolis. She was born on November 6, 1938 in Concord, NC. Linda was the daughter of the late William "Bill" Matthew Davis and Sadie Lee Freeman Davis. She was a devoted and caring wife to her husband Charles. They were high school sweethearts at Winecoff High School, where she graduated in 1956. Linda was a selfless mother to her two children. She diligently worked in data processing amongst other positions at Fieldcrest Cannon for 25 years. She forged ahead to begin her own business, Treece Insurance Agency. She served senior citizens throughout North Carolina by assisting them with their Medicare Supplement needs for over 25 years. Her son, Tony, will continue serving Linda's clients through his business, TreeceCo at 432 Copperfield Boulevard. She will be remembered for her admirable work ethic, her dependable nature, and her strong mental toughness. When someone had a problem, she was always there to lend a helping hand even when it put her in a difficult position. Linda volunteered at CMC Northeast Hospital. Her generosity will be missed. We would be remiss if we did not commemorate her tenacious spirit that allowed her to overcome many obstacles in her life, including breast cancer. Linda was truly a fighter. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother Donald Davis and her sister Jacqueline Potts. She leaves behind her husband Charles; her son Tony and his wife Donna Treece; her daughter Starr Treece; her grandchildren: Amber Kushinsky, David Treece, Daniel Chang, Nikki Chang, David Elijah Thomas (deceased), and Joe Liang; and her great-grandchildren: Chandler, Alyssa, and Landon Kushinsky. The funeral service will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel in Kannapolis on Sunday September 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
