Lindsay Clayton Harrington

Lindsay Clayton Harrington, 82, of Gold Hill, NC, passed away on December 27, 2023 at W.G. Hefner Salisbury VA Medical Center. He was born December 7, 1941 to the late Crafton C. Harrington and Wilma Walker Love.

Lindsay married the love of his life Pamela Grace Phillips on September 4, 1971 in Gaffney, South Carolina.

Lindsay was very proud of his service to his country. He was a 23-year veteran in the US Army with 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. He retired from service in 1987 as Sergeant First Class. Besides loving his time in the military, he enjoyed looking at farm equipment and guns. He was a very proud grandfather. He loved his grandchildren with everything he had.

Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 52 years, Pamela Phillips Harrington; five children, Lindsay Wayne Harrington, Steve (Debbie) Hopkins, Lisa (Roger) Austin, Justin (Deanna) Harrington and Jason (Kristi) Harrington; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with the funeral services immediately following at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and Rev. Ed Burns officiating. Military Honors and interment to follow in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
