Obituary: Linn Alexander Frye, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at his home after suffering from a long illness. He was born October 11, 1933 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of the late Nash Montgomery Frye and Elizabeth Louise Shulenburger Frye. In earlier years Linn was owner & operator of the former Ralph's Salads, Concord, NC. Later, he served as an assistant vice-president of operations with the former Biggers Brothers, Charlotte, NC where he retired after many years of service. Linn was also a veteran of the U.S. Army as a military policeman. His family fondly remembers his love of his lakehouse and riding in his boat at Lake Tillery. He had a special love for his children and his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Craig Frye and Dewey Frye. The funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by his nephew , Rev. Michael Frye. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include his children, Jeffrey Linn Frye of Albemarle, NC; Bob Frye of Norwood, NC; and Linda Frye of Concord, NC; two grandchildren, Tommy Vanderburg and Steven Vanderburg (Cheri); step-children, Michelle Graynor and Allison Graynor Griffin ; one brother, Luther Frye of Kannapolis, NC; and one sister, Ruth F. Smith of Concord, NC In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road SW, Lilburn, Georgia 30047.
