Obituary: Lissie Mae Tilley Flynn "Sister", age 96, of Kannapolis, went to be with her heavenly father on Monday, April 25, 2016, after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28 at Whitley's Funeral Chapel, with her nephew, Jeffrey Charles Freeze and Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday, prior to the funeral. "Sister" was born July 24, 1919 in High Point, NC. She was the oldest daughter of the late Edward S. and Gracie Money Tilley. She was a long-time area resident and attendee of Central Baptist Church. She worked for Cannon Mills in Plant 1, #1 Weave Room until she retired. She was a loving and devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was a strong, Christian woman, who was the backbone of her family. Proverbs 31:28 says "Her children will rise up and call her blessed, and she will be praised" and this verse best exemplifies her. She will be forever in our hearts, and will be eternally missed. In addition to her parents, Lissie was preceded in death by her brothers; Raymond Edward Tilley and James Grady Tilley, her sisters; Lois Belle Tilley Rowland and Ollie Lucille Tilley Enwright, and her grandson, Jason Michael Sides. Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Tilley Freeze, her daughters; Beverly Flynn Hurst and Rosalee Flynn Sides, all of Kannapolis. Her grandchildren include Lisa Lam of Houston, Lori Hyler (Randell) of Charlotte, Jennie Van Dongen (Pierre) of Charlotte, Melissa Sides and Jonathan Sides (Brittany) both of Kannapolis. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren; Kayla, Kyler, Josey, Michael, Brennen and Ashton, as well as numerous other loving relatives. Visitation: 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday, prior to the funeral Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 PM Thursday, April 28 Whitley's Funeral Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park.
