Lita Grey (Bost) Sheffield

Lita Grey Bost Sheffield, 87, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Chapman Valley Manor, Chapman Kansas. Born 1 Sep 1933 in China Grove, NC.  She was the daughter of the late Coyt James Bost and Clara Eva Bost (Moore).  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James D Sheffield Sr, two of her sons, Fredrick Russell, William Ernest “Butch” Sheffield and her daughter Theresa Sheffield Davis.  She worked as a switch board operator for the telephone company in Avon Park and Orlando Florida.  At the age of 58, Lita went back to school and received her GED.  In the last three and a half years, Lita lived in Kansas where she built memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren in their school activities, 4-H projects, attending soft ball games, birthday parties and many family outings.  Family members left with those cherished memories include, son, James Donald Sheffield, Jr and wife Mitzi of Milford, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  The family will receive friends Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10-11 am at the New Hope Independent Baptist Church.  Funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Sheffield’s life will start at 11am in the church conducted by Pastor Roger Bostic.  Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.  In lieu of flower arrangements, donations may be made to Chapman Valley Manor, 1009 Marshall Ave., Chapman, KS 67431.
