Lois B. Carter

Obituary: Lois "Babe" Bentley Carter, 90, formerly of Kannapolis, passed away March 22, 2011 at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home. Mrs. Carter was born February 8, 1921 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Charlie E. Bentley and the late Cordie Anna Christy Bentley. She was retired from Cannon Mills. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Worth Price Carter and daughter June Carter Settlemyer, as well as sisters Louise Blackwelder and Ruby McKinney and brothers Howard Bentley, C.W. Bentley and Joseph Bentley. She is survived by her beloved grandson John Settlemyer and wife Joan Settlemyer, and great-grandchildren Anna and Luke Settlemyer of Huntersville, NC. A committal service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 25, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Jeff Hassel officiating.
