Obituary: Lois "Tiny" Deese Jones, 87, of Kannapolis died Monday, October 22, 2012 at CMC-NE in Concord after a period of declining health. Her funeral service will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 24 with Rev. Chris O'Guin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 PM on Wednesday. Private burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park at a later date. Lois was born May 18, 1925 in Chesterfield Co. SC, a daughter of the late Maxie C. and Iris James Deese. She moved to this area in 1943 and worked for Cannon Mills. She was a long-time member of N. Kannapolis Baptist Church. Lois was a loving mother and enjoyed her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Benjamin Jones, who died in 1993, her sons, Ricky Dale and David Ralph Jones and also 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son, Jerry Jones and wife Sybil, of China Grove and her daughter, Cathy Upright and husband, David of Kannapolis, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren and 3 sisters; Betty Perdue, Sybil Winstead and Doris "Dot" Jordan, all of the Chesterfield Co. area.
