Obituary: Lois Phillips Perry, 90, of Kannapolis passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Best of Care. She was born August 13, 1923 in Franklin County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Crawford Whitsel and Alice Franklin Whitsel. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Elmer L. Phillips and Berlin Perry. She was also preceded in death by a son, Bill Phillips and a granddaughter, Danette Barnes. Lois was retired from Cannon Mills Co. where she worked at Plant 1 #4 Weave room for over 40 years. After retirement, she was a volunteer with Cooperative Christian Ministries in Kannapolis for many years. She was a lifelong member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, Oct. 16th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and Rev. Ralph Adams. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior from 12:30 to 2:30 PM at Whitley's. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Barnes (Connoly) of Kannapolis, a son, Jim Phillips (Renee) of China Grove, 8 grandchildren: Trina Wright, Kenny Barnes, Alicia Baldwin, Lee Ann Stogner, Wendy Carpenter, Chad Phillips, Kristi Harrington, Pete Altman, 19 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, a brother, Purcell Whitsel (Agnes) of Macon, Ga. And her beloved sister and best friend, Elise Whitsel Hawkins of Danielsville, Ga..
