Lori Lynn (Smith) James

Lori Lynn Smith James, 54, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday morning, December 30, 2023, at Atrium Health Cabarrus.

Born September 22, 1969, in Mecklenburg County, she was a daughter of Carolyn Martin Smith and the late Paul Franklin Smith.

Lori, a beloved mother, is survived by her cherished son, Chris James wife Brittani, devoted daughter, Mandi James husband Joey, and adored grandchildren, Andrew, John Paul (JP), Jessie Marie, and Whitley. Lori and her late husband Christopher James (CJ) found immense happiness in their shared journey through life. Together they built a legacy of love, family, and fun. Their bond was an enduring testament to commitment and companionship. Lori held dear the memories of their time together, cherishing CJ's spirit as she continued to create beautiful moments with their children, grandchildren, and cherished loved ones. James, a very close friend, shared in that journey with Lori. She found joy in her time spent with family and friends, treasuring every moment. An enthusiast of lake activities, she found solace and happiness in those waters. She leaves behind her loving mother Carolyn, sisters Paula and Cheryl, and nephew PJ. Lori was proceeded in death by her adored father Paul Smith. Lori's legacy lives on through her deep connections, the memories she shared with those she held dear, and her unforgettable smile that now shines down on us all.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
