Louise Kerley Deese

Obituary: Louise Kerley Deese, age 97, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Big Elm Retirement Center, Kannapolis, NC after declining health of the last three years. She was born August 17, 1917 in Alexander County, NC, the daughter of the late John Bowles and Grace Sloan Kerley. Louise was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Wash Cloth Dept. for many years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. She is also remembered for her great memory and her love of cooking. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Deese in 2012; a great-grandson, Chad Vining; and a sister, Hazel Green. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Carter McInnis and Rev. Curtis Parker. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her daughters, Linda Gulledge of Taylorsville, NC and Sybil (Jerry) Jones of China Grove, NC; her sons, Tony Deese of Kannapolis, NC and Michael (Diane) Deese of Rockingham, NC; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Arlene Price of Kannapolis, NC. The family would like to say a special thank-you to the staff at Big Elm and their best CNA's especially Elizabeth Ford for all of their love and care that you gave our mother during this difficult time. Also, a thanks to the Community Care Hospice for their steadfast care that they also showed to the family. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
