Louise Severt Kinney

Obituary: Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Severt Kinney, 82, of Longmont, Colorado, formerly of Concord, died peacefully on July 3, 2012 at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont Colorado following a short period of declining health. Louise was born October 11, 1929 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Strat Gilbert and Zora Lane Severt. Louise spent most of her life in Concord and Kannapolis NC but moved to Boulder Colorado in 1999 to be close to her daughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Reginald Kinney, who died in 1984 and brother, Clayton M. Severt, and sister, Blanche Severt, both of Concord. Louise was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Louise worked at Cannon Mills Company for 20 plus years. Mrs. Kinney was an avid reader of her Bible and enjoyed keeping up with current events. She enjoyed many things in this life including ice cream, any kind of plant or flower especially roses, talking with friends & family since she was quite social, and perhaps one of her most favorite things in life was playing with her grandson. She took great pride in teaching him many things and telling him stories. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Tim McQueen. There will be an open casket from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to visitation. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00am. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Kinney Cruikshank, and grandson Callum Scott Cruikshank of Longmont, Colorado.
