Obituary: Mrs. Louise Hall Morrison,93, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 18, 2015 at CHC-Northeast Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Rowan County at Mt Ulla. Louise was the daughter of the late Frank Grady Hall and Martha Turner Hall. She graduated from Mt Ulla High School and Queens College in Charlotte, NC. She taught at Cramerton High School, W.R. Odell School and Northwest Cabarrus High School and retired after 34 years of teaching. Louise married Robert E. Morrison in 1946. Her life was centered around God and her family. She was a member of Gilwood Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, Sunday School Teacher, president of Women of Gilwood, choir member and Cub Scout Leader. She received an Honorary Lifetime Membership from the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the John Knox Chapter of DAR. Louise enjoyed numerous activities including gardening, canning, needle point, basket weaving, quilting, knitting, playing bridge and canasta, cooking and traveling. She was also known for visiting the sick and the homebound. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E Morrison Sr. and son Robert E Morrison Jr, two sisters, Henrietta H Woodward, Leona H Howard, four Brothers Joe W Hall, Frank G Hall Jr, Turner C Hall and John S Hall. Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Monday, September 21, 2015 at Gilwood Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Alan Buckner with internment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church fellowship hall from 1:30-3:30 P.M. prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence. Survivors include a daughter, Henrietta Morrison Holbrooks (Steve) of Apex, NC , three sons John Hall Morrison, Philip Mason Morrison (Kathy), Turner Alexander Morrison (Susan) all of Davidson, NC and daughter-in-law Jan Carol Morrison of Kannapolis, NC. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren, Shelia M Lister (Ted), Lindsay M Gaffney (Matt), Alice M Helms (Barrett), Shelley M Klein (Tyler), Haley M Hamilton (Michael), Philip M. Morrison II (Heather), Robert A Morrison (Mia), Sarah Louise Holbrooks, Nathan H Morrison, David S Holbrooks, Paula E Morrison, MariMarie Morrison, and Turner A Morrison II, nine great grandchildren Theodore Lister Jr, Scottie Lister, Blake Gaffney, Emily Lister, Alayna Gaffney, Ryder Klein, Mason Morison, Samuel Gaffney, and Selah Klein. "The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. James Shepherd for his medical care and friendship during Mother's illness." "They would also like to thank her caregivers, Donna and Marie of Carolina Home Care for their care and concern during Mother's illness." In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Scholarship Fund of Gilwood Presyterian Church, 2993 Odell School Road, Concord, NC 28027.
