Louise Brooks Poston

Obituary: Louise Brooks Poston, age 92, formerly of 112 S. Rose Avenue and had made her home at Best of Care Assisted Living in Kannapolis in recent years, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a period of declining health from congestive heart failure. She was born October 8, 1917 in Iredell County, NC, the daughter of the late George Mack Brooks and Annie Ledwell Brooks. She was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plt.#1 Sewing Room for 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of Kannapolis West A Street Church of God. She was known by her family for enjoying raising flowers, listening to birds, and enjoying her solitude. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her two sons, Frankie Poston and Johnny G. Poston; two brothers, Ernest Brooks and Marshall Brooks, Sr.; and a sister, Lillian Joines. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Marshall Brooks, Jr. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her son, Jackie E. Poston & wife, Glenda of Beaufort, NC; four grandchildren, Darin Poston, Tracie Poston Murdock, Louise S.
