Lucille Rodgers Moss

Obituary: Lucille Rodgers Moss, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her home after short period of declining health. She was born January 28, 1927 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Walter Calvin Rodgers and Ethel Canupp Rodgers. Lucille was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Wash Cloth Dept. for thirty plus years until her retirement. She was also a member of the Kannapolis Church of God, Kannapolis, NC where she was involved in the women's ministry program. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mason Ashby Moss on December 11, 2014; a daughter, Martha Kay Moss; and two sisters, Marie Scarborough and Doris Purser; and one brother, Harold Rodgers. The funeral service will be held at1:30 PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel; Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Greg Sloop. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include two sons, William Arnold Moss of Kannapolis , NC and Gary Mason Moss (Anita) of Landis, NC; two daughters, Ann Moss Adcock (Lynn) and Helen Moss Coone, both of Kannapolis, NC; a brother, Calvin Rodgers (Sarah) of Kannapolis, NC; and a sister, Catherine Wentz (Joe) of Concord, NC; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
