Lynda Lee (Knight) Cobb

Lynda Lee Knight Cobb, 82, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2023 after an unexpected and brief illness.

She was born January 4, 1941, in Cabarrus County to the late John Wesley Knight, Sr. and the late Ozell Matilda Beam Knight.

Lynda was a charter member of Royal Oaks United Methodist Church.  She loved to crochet, spending time at the beach and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dear friends. Lynda was a very loving wife, as well as an awesome mother and grandmother.  She started her career as a hairdresser at Annes Beauty shop in the 1970’s and was currently working at Tangles beauty shop in Concord.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mabel Stone, Evelyn Meismer, Margaret Leishman, Marie Overman, Helen Williams and John Wesley Knight, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory, are her husband Phil Cobb whom she married on July 7, 1963, sons, Buddy Cobb and wife Alicia of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Casey Cobb and girlfriend Kristy Dunlap of Wilmington, NC, grandchildren, Emily Cobb and Garret Cobb, one sister Nancy Bost of Monroe, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 24, 2023 from 4:00 -6:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home with a Celebration of Her Life Service beginning at 6:00 PM in the Chapel with Dr. Gary Royals officiating.
