Lynda P. Scoggins

Obituary: Mrs. Lynda Parker Scoggins went home to be with her Lord and Savior August 29, 2018 after an extended illness. She was born October 24, 1945 in Rowan County to Floyd and Lina Lambert Parker. Lynda was a 1964 graduate of West Rowan High School, and was a former member of Amity Lutheran Church. Lynda attended Church of God of Prophecy Church in Kannapolis. She also enjoyed doing oil and pastel paintings, and loved to fish. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach. Lynda had a green hand when it came to working in her flowers and plants. Lynda had worked for Cannon Mills for a number of years. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Gene Parker and William "Bill" Parker. Survivors include her husband Charlie Scoggins of the home, her sister Nancy Shue and husband Richard of Salisbury. Sister- in laws, Kay Parker of Statesville, N.C. Madeline Carroll of Abbeville, S.C., Lynda McDaniel and husband John of Drexel, N.C. Brothers-in law, Paul Scoggins of Monroe, N.C. and Tim Scoggins and wife Donna of Granite Quarry, N.C., and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 1, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Lynda will be laid to rest in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, N.C.
