Lynn Bonds Skeen

Obituary: Lynn Bonds Skeen, 77, of Decatur, Ga. , formerly of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in Decatur following a six year illness. She was born June 27, 1941 in Concord, NC a daughter of the late W.W. "Tubby" Bonds and the late Mildred Moore Bonds. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. McDuffy B. Skeen. Lynn was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School, class of 1959. She had been employed by the Kannapolis Chamber of Commerce, and by the Lake Gift Shoppe in Mooresville. Lynn had served as a staff member for former United States Senator Elizabeth Dole and had been employed at the law offices of Wallace and Graham. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. Family members left to cherish her memory are her former husband, Larry E. Harris, a daughter, Laura Harris Walker, a son, Richard W. Harris and wife Rashida A. Harris, grandson, Grant Walker, and a granddaughter, Aleeza Harris. She is also survived by two sisters, Sue Bonds Freeman and husband Dean, Molly Bonds Clayton and husband Greg, a niece, Susan Freeman Tubbs and her husband Frank, and a great nephew Wilson Sides. She is also survived by her godson, Wiliam Mark Graham. The family requests that memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 416 E 1st St, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
