M. C. Steele

Obituary: Mr. M.C. Steele, 79, of Kannapolis died Friday Jan. 15, 2010 at the Brian Center in Salisbury. He was born October 18, 1930 in Alexander County, the son of the late Robert Wilson Steele and Pearl Radie Steele. He was veteran of the US Army Air Corps and later the US Army for 17 years from 1948-61 where he had served in the Korean War. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 27 and the VFW Post 8989. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM Sunday Jan. 17, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel officiated by Rev. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in Salisbury 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 18, 2010. He is survived by 3sisters: Hazel Raper , Dorothy Brock and Ruth Rufty all of Kannapolis and many nieces and nephews.
