Mabel Louise (Watt) Galloway

Mabel Louise Watt Galloway, 93, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

Mabel was born on August 2, 1929 in Iredell County to the late Houston Leroy Watt and Fannie Mae Beaver Watt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Royce Roland Galloway, and all eight of her siblings.

Mabel worked as a spinner at Cannon Mills for over 45 years. She was a lifetime member of Concordia Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of the D.A.V. Women’s Auxiliary. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking. She also loved traveling and seeing new places. She especially loved going to the Gem Mine in Spruce Pine and going on vacation at Oak Island. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, who enjoyed the simple things in life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Ken Galloway, daughter, Brenda Wilhelm, four grandsons, one great grandson, and a close special friend, Wendy Camplin. She will also be missed by her beloved puppy dogs, Sugar Bear and Scruffydine.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. Ken Reed officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mabel’s memory may be made to Concordia Lutheran Church,  185 Concordia Church Rd., China Grove, NC 28023.
