Mabel Curtis Lowery

Obituary: Mabel Curtis Barnes Lowery, 93 of Concord, NC died at The Brian Center of Concord on April 14, 2015. Mabel was born on June 30, 1921 in Caldwell Co., NC the daughter of the late Luther Curtis and the late Margaret Suddreth Curtis. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Lindsay Barnes and daughter Linda Carol Barnes Mabel was a member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. She retired from Cannon Mills working in the sheet dept. and later was a cook at Townhouse II in Kannapolis. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Cline of Concord and a son, Larry Barnes, Sr. and wife Brenda of Greensboro, NC, by 4 grandchildren: Wendy Hill, Eric Cline, Beverly Sizemore and Larry Barnes, Jr. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren. The funeral for Mrs. Lowery will take place at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Phil Goble. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after the service at Whitley's.
