Obituary: Mable Clampet Gross, 98, of Concord, NC went to her Heaven Home on Monday, March 28, 2016. Mable was born on September 19, 1917 in Iredell Co., NC, the daughter of the late Hubert P. Clampet and the late Mary Aldridge Clampet. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, R. John Gross who passed away on July 4, 1993, five sisters; Eva Snow, Dorothy Stuart, Flossie Bostian, Phyllis Lazenby, Martha Sellers and one brother, Frank Clampet. Mrs. Gross was a member of Elwood Lane Freewill Baptist Church, She was a homemaker and a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family would say that she was the best cook ever. No one could make better pies, cakes, candy, etc. Left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Millie Gross Bostic (Perry) with whom she made her home. One granddaughter, Ginger Bostic Keasler (Robby), and two great grandchildren, Laurel Keasler and Logan Keasler, that she loved so very much - they always brought a smile to her face when they entered the room. Also by two sisters; Fay Absher and Mildred Black. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Roger Bostic. Burial will follow in Carolina Mem. Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 prior to the service. The family wishes that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Ln, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
