Obituary: Mae Lingruen, 98, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at the Tucker Hospice House. She was born June 5, 1917 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Bruner Allen Rodgers, and Nora Lee Canupp Rodgers. Mae started working at Cannon Mills and after marrying Clyde they moved to Cleveland, OH, to operate a greenhouse. They moved back to Kannapolis after retirement. Mae enjoyed traveling, and she loved her church, Kannapolis Church of God, formerly Elm St. Church of God. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 13, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home, with the Dr. Greg Sloop officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the service at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mae was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Lingruen, four brothers William, Tricy, Otis, and Jimmy Rodgers, two sisters, Pauline Rodgers, and Ada Myers. Those left to cherish her memory are one brother LaVaughn Rodgers, four sisters Margie Dennis, Fannie Belle Waldroup, Thelma Graham, and Amelia Fowler, one step daughter Gail Lapish, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
