Mae Alice Finlayson Wood

Obituary: Mae Alice Finlayson Wood, age 84, of Concord, formerly of Central Square, NY, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord after a period of declining health. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel. Private burial will follow at a later date. Mae was born Dec. 23, 1927 in Orville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ralph and Anna Elizabeth Brenneman Eckinger. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers. She was a Magnolia high school graduate and then moved to Liverpool, NY where she was a long-time area resident. Mae was of the Methodist faith, a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW. She enjoyed reading, crafts and gardening. In 2008 Mae and her husband moved to this area to be near one of her daughters. She is survived by her son; Ralph Finlayson(Maureen)of Brewerton, NY; daughters; Donna F. Gazillo (Paul) of St. Charles, IL, Sandra F. Jarvis (James Jr.) of Concord NC, Cynthia F. Lamkay (Philip) of Baldwinsville, NY, Brenda Wood Hance of Simpsonville, SC Mae is also survived by12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
