Maenett (Jordan) Stewart

Maenett (Jordan) Stewart, age 85 of Kannapolis, wife of the late James Solomon Stewart, passed away Wednesday January 4, 2023. Born in Chesterfield County, SC on June 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William Lester and Nezzie Elizabeth Joplin Jordan.

Mrs. Stewart spent 37 years of her career with Cannon Mills and 18 years as a nursing assistant in the Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. When she wasn’t working, she spent most of her time cooking and caring for others. As an avid gardener, she loved to spend time out in the yard perfecting her craft.

She is survived by 2 sons, James “Jimmy” Stewart (Rita) and Jeff Stewart (Lucinda); 5 grandchildren, Jodie West, Douglas Daniels, Kennedy Stewart, Sydney Stewart and Brandon Rapp. 3 great grandchildren, James West, Mary Ella West and Greyson Daniels. She is also survived by her sisters, Odell Honeycutt and Sherry Jackson, as well as her brother William “Jr.” Jordan. She was predeceased by numerous brothers.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 8th at 2:30 PM in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 prior to the service. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
