Maggie Lean Adams, 84, of Kannapolis passed away January 26, 2022, at Caremoor Assisted Living. She was born January 29, 1937 in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late James Alfred Adams and Annie Belle Chastain Adams. She was preceded in death by her sister, Annie Sue Adams.
Maggie had formerly worked at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry and Shady Brook School Cafeteria, and later was a caregiver for her parents and sister. She was a member of Centerview Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She attended High Point College. She was also a member of the Cabarrus Humane Society.
Maggie’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Willie Rash. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Due to Covid concerns, her family will not greet friends and people attending are asked to wear masks and social distance themselves in the chapel. Maggie’s body will lie in state prior from 10:15 to 11:00 AM for anyone to pay their respects.
Maggie is survived by her sister, Mary Adams Tilley. She is also survived by four nephews, Jack Tilley, Jr., Steve Tilley (wife Rhonda), Michael Tilley (wife Melanie), Ben Tilley, one niece, Julie Pope (husband Grant), and many great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
