Marcelle Milloway Upright

Obituary: Marcelle Milloway Upright, 85 , of Kannapolis passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at The Laurels of Salisbury. She was born December 30, 1926 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Wade H. and Kate Whitley Milloway. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.T. (Dixie) Upright. She was a graduate of Wake Forest College. She retired from Kannapolis City Schools where she was a teacher for 30 years. She also taught evening classes at Evans Business School. She was a former Cabarrus County Commissioner for two terms. She had been a former member of the Clarice Women's Club. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 PM Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM in Whitley's Chapel officiated by Rev.Charles Gibbons . Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park. She is survived by cousins, Sherry (Ray) Chesnut of China Grove, Rev.
