Marcia Goins Turner

Obituary: Marcia Goins Turner, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare System-NorthEast, Concord, NC after a short illness. She was born May 16, 1954 in Mecklenburg County, NC, the daughter of Therman Rudolph Goins and the late Bobbie Sue Waldrup Goins. Marcia was a homemaker for most of her life. She like dancing especially shagging, working in her flowers at home, and liked to go with family and friends to various Thrift Stores to hunt for bargains. Her children and her grandchildren were her life. In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by a husband, John R. Turner. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Mike Barefield. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her four children, Bettina Harrington, Bobby Gosnell, Krissy Turner, and Travis Turner; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Makayla, Austin, Zaliya, Chloe, and Bradley; four brothers, Bill, Ronnie, Jimmy, and Buck; her significant other, Don Holifield; and her aunt, Eleanor Waldrup.
