Obituary: Marcile Mitchell Bowles, age 86, of Kannapolis died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at Novant Rowan Regional Med. Center after a period of declining health. Visitation will be at Whitley's Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Wednesday, Oct. 30 followed by a 2:00 PM graveside service at Carolina Memorial Park with Rev. Randall Ritchie officiating. Marcile was born April 19, 1927 in Alexander Co. a daughter of the late Russell and Mary Barnett Mitchell. She was a longtime area resident and was employed for many years at Cannon Mills as a weaver. Marcile was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Bowles in 2007 and her 6 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hall-Peele of Las Vegas, NV, 4 grandchildren; William Kenneth Stokes of Kannapolis, Melissa Rae Cox of Colorado Springs, Christopher Bradly Stokes of Rimertown, Shalah Holbrooks of Concord, 10 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
